I’ll complete projects without borrowing – Uba Sani

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has pledged that his administration will not borrow to finance projects or accumulate debts while executing them.

Speaking at the groundbreaking of a 16.5-kilometre asphalt road linking Kayarda Tasha, Kayarda Gari, Unguwan Sarki, Maskawa, and Dan Alhaji towns in Lere Local Government Area, the Governor assured residents that ongoing and abandoned projects would be completed before the end of his tenure.

Governor Sani explained that the newly flagged-off road project would be handled by a reputable company. According to him, “this kind of project is unprecedented in Lere local government.”

Listing some of the inherited projects, he said: “Rewa bridge that links Gure town has been completed. Marjeri bridge has also been completed. Tudai bridge will be completed in a month or two. I have taken steps to address the lack of electricity supply in Yarkasuwa, Kayarda, Ramin Kura and Mariri towns.”

Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, commended the Governor’s commitment to fulfilling promises. He described Sani as “a man of his words and someone who keeps promises.”

Buba also expressed gratitude for the appointment of several Lere indigenes into key positions, noting: “The Majority Leader of Kaduna State, Hon Munira Suleiman Tanimu is from Lere local government. We are proud of our hardworking House of Representatives member, Hon Ahmed Munir. God has blessed us with a dynamic Council Chairman, Hon Jafaaru. I am a Commissioner of Environment.”

He further lauded the Governor for allowing officials to operate freely, saying, “that is why we operate an open door policy and provide succour to our people.”

House Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, recalled that the road construction was one of the campaign promises made to the people of Lere. She assured the crowd that the ruling APC would replicate its recent electoral successes in the 2027 elections. “The result of the 2027 election will be a repeat of what happened in the recent by-election, where APC emerged victorious at the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency as well as Zaria-Kewaye and Basawa State Constituencies,” she said.

Also speaking, Hon. Ahmed Munir, representing Lere Federal Constituency, recounted the Governor’s youthful years in Saminaka, the local government headquarters. He noted that Uba Sani was a football striker who consistently scored goals for the Saminaka Celtics. “Governor Uba Sani will continue to be a striker in the political realm,” he remarked.
