Dr Jonathan said the Bureau has the mandate to establish and maintain high standards of morality in the conduct of government business by ensuring that the actions and behaviour of public officers conform to the highest standards of public morality and accountability.

He said the problem of this country is not the lack of good ideas, policies, strategies but the lack of personal integrity in high places which distorts all plans as they are reconfigured to serve personal, special and corrupt interests.

The Acting President assured the Board that the administration will support and empower it with relevant resources required for carrying out their assignment. In his remarks, chairman of the Board, Mr. Sam Saba, promised to tackle the assignment with the seriousness it deserves. Other members of the Board are, Alhaji Ibrahim Manzo, Chief Stephen Bekefula, Amb. Habib Elabor and Dr (Mrs.) Christiana Okwori. Others are Alhaji Disina Mohammed, Prince Okechukwu Nwadinobi and Dr Ademola Adebo.
