ILO to collaborate with Nigeria in fighting human trafficking

Mrs. Sina Chuma-Mkandwire, ILO’s Country Director for Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Gambia and liaison office for ECOWAS, disclosed this while presenting eight different publications on human trafficking and forced labour to the Ministry of Labour and Productivity. She stated that ILO will continue to collaborate with Nigeria on the implementation of the European Union’s funded project to enhance the cooperation with Federal Government of Nigeria in the fight against trafficking in human beings from Nigeria to Europe (ECTIP) under which different training manuals, reports and a code of conduct for private employment agencies were developed and printed.
The Director Planning, Analysis, Research and Statistics in the ministry Mr. Zacchaeus Atte while receiving the publications on behalf of the ministry, thanked the ILO for the gesture and promised the judicious utilization of the publications.
