An African-American rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer, Scotty LVX has spoken about how he’s unearthing his musical talent on a daily basis.
Originally from rural Leesburg beginnings, Scotty LVX’s humble Florida upbringing laid the foundation for what is now a seasoned and complex mixture of melodic tones.
He said his musical depth and educated production reveal the desire to further push the envelope in genre blending.
Born Terrel Parham on February 20, 1992 in Leesburg, Florida but currently based in Los Angeles, Scotty LVX is a Rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer.
He disclosed that music wasn’t always at the forefront for Scotty LVX. The rapper thought the path of a preacher was for him.
Moving out to LA from Leesburg, Florida, Scotty was born to a single African-American correctional officer who’s plan for him was to settle down locally.
He said after producing for the likes of Akon, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Sean Kingston and DaniLeigh, Scotty knew his future was music.
He produced and wrote the title track on DaniLeigh’s debut album ‘The Plan’.
Scotty prides himself on being authentic and real by simply ‘doing him’ adding that his main concern has been mastering his craft and growing as an artiste.
“I’m the guy that got away and the one you run away from at the same time” he says. He continues “I’m pretty layered as a person and artist and I’m discovering exactly who I am everyday just like the rest of us”.
Scotty believes staying focused and making sure he stays running his own race, while not bothering too much about people’s expectations is key.
“As long as I’m making music that is honest to who I am, then I’m satisfied and proud of myself” he said.
His debut album (EP) STAGES dropped in 2018 and since then he has stayed low key trying to find his niche creatively and figure out exactly his next move while dropping only singles.
Scotty said one of his biggest fears is not being able to keep up with the ever changing nature of the industry, especially in urban music.
“Whats ‘cool’ or accepted is always changing in hip hop and black culture so you just really gotta keep your ear to the streets and observe where it’s headed next” Scotty said.
He said even though 2020 was a tough year for many artistes as there were no shows and events to bring in income, It was a very blessed year for him.
He disclosed that he has a lot lined up for 2021 and he is taking his time to plan so he can execute it with precision.
He said “staying creative and inspired while prayerful is the challenge this year with everything that tool place in 2020.”
After several singles he plans on releasing two projects in Summer and Spring respectively.
