A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Yilcini Jan Bida, says he is not backing down for Gov. Caleb Mutfwang ahead of the governorship primary.
The primary is scheduled to hold nationwide tommorrow (Thursday).
Bida made this known on Tuesday while responding to reports that he had stepped down for Mutfwang. He said he would defeat the incumbent governor at the primary, stressing that he is not afraid to challenge the incumbent governor.
“I want to inform the people of Plateau State that I am still in the race. Rumors are flying around that I have stepped down, but I want to tell you that I am in the race. I am fully committed to contesting the primary on Thursday,” he said.
“I am not only contesting, but I also have programs put forward for the people of Plateau State. We are not coming to govern without a plan. We want to govern with the people at heart.
“On security, we have plans to fully integrate and fund Operation Rainbow. We will recruit personnel from rural communities to ensure the operation’s efficiency. As a former military officer, I better understanding how to restore peace in the state, Bida added.
