The Director-General of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti-Corruption and Charitable Initiative (AHACCI), Hon. Ismaila Yusuf Atus, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will make significant progress in tackling terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges facing the country.
Speaking during a media interaction, Atus said President Tinubu has demonstrated the political will and commitment needed to improve national security.
He noted that Nigeria has experienced prolonged security challenges over the years and expressed optimism that ongoing efforts under the current administration would yield positive results.
“We are aware of the security issues the country has faced for a long time, including cases of kidnapping and other concerns. But under President Tinubu, I am optimistic things will improve. He is doing everything possible to strengthen the country,” Atus said.
Calling for patience and continued support for the President, he urged Nigerians to maintain confidence in the administration’s ongoing reforms.
“We should give him more time. That is why we are asking for his re-election for a second term. With this, Nigeria will be better and more grateful,” he added.
Atus also commended the President’s interventions in humanitarian sectors, noting that Tinubu’s policies aim to improve the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, expand job opportunities, and reduce hardship.
“He is taking care of a lot of vulnerable Nigerians — the old and the young — and working to create jobs. When the country is peaceful, opportunities will increase, and hardship will reduce,” he said.
He urged citizens to support the President as he continues to navigate the country through various reforms.
Atus also referenced Tinubu’s record as former Governor of Lagos State, saying his leadership contributed to improvements in security and governance during that period, including initiatives such as Operation Sweep and the establishment of institutions to strengthen accountability.
“If you knew Lagos before Tinubu took over, you would understand the transformation. At one point, it was difficult to move freely. But the state witnessed notable improvements in safety and development under his leadership. The same approach will help Nigeria grow,” he stated.
He concluded by praying for long life for all Nigerians to witness what he believes will be a positive turnaround under Tinubu’s leadership.
“He is putting all his energy into building the country. We will support him for a second-term re-election so the progress can continue,” he said.
