An FCT senatorial candidate on the platform of the Alliance for Democratic Congress (ADC), Ambassador Esther Audu, has said she was out to contest for the senate of the FCT to ensure that justice is done for the entire people of the territory.
Audu, while speaking with our reporter in Abuja yesterday, said the people of the FCT deserved a second tier of government, saying the current arrangement where there were only area councils was not in the best interest of the people of the territory.
“For example, any day the states are having elections for their governors and house of assembly, FCT people will only glue to the television watching what is happening in other states. So they are denied the right of participating in the electoral process of that day,” she said.
She said if she was given the mandate in 2019 to go to the senate, she would ensure that there was fairness in sharing all positions.
Audu, who was a former chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), expressed confidence that she would emerge victorious at the election since she had structures across the territory.
