Also, the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) in a statement over the weekend advocated aggressive job creation by the federal government to tackle the problem of unemployment in Nigeria.
The NBA President, Okey Wali (SAN), urged President Goodluck Jonathan to thoroughly investigate the incident and find means to  alleviate the pains of the injured and families of the deceased.
In a statement, constitutional lawyer Mike Ozekhome (SAN) said Moro and the Comptroller General of Immigration David Parrandang are not fit to hold their current positions.
“The Nigerian Immigration Service and its directors, till date have refused to take any responsibility for their gross negligence, or acknowledge their shortcomings in the entire exercise. Rather, the non-apologetic and remorseless Moro and Mr David Parrandang have continued to subtly lay the blame at the cold graveside of the hapless dead,” he said.
Meanwhile, four applicants in the tragic NIS recruitment exercise have sued the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, and four others before an Abuja Federal High Court.
The applicants: Charles Ugwuonye, Friday Danlami, Chinedu Onwuka and Samson Ojo, want the court to refund the money paid by the applicants with the sum back of N1 million to each applicant. They also want the court to pay the sum of N50 million as compensation to each of the deceased applicants as general damages.
The suit brought by their counsel, Emeka Ugwuonye on Thursday, also wants the court to declare the execution of the Saturday March 15 recruitment exercise illegal, unwarranted, in violation of the applicants’ fundamental right to life.
