Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has released N7.5billion for the renovation of all public secondary and primary schools.
Okorocha also distributed learning materials to students.
Speaking while distributing learning items in Owerri, Okorocha said government had already renovated all the premier schools in Owerri and environs and released N7.5 billions to refurbish other public schools in the state
He said the renovation exercise would commence immediately would be completed before May 29, 2019.
Okorocha had at the inception of a Free Education Programme, reportedly provided pupils with furniture, uniforms and bags and employed more than four thousand teachers.
He said, “My parting gift to the people of Imo State in the Education Sector is the immediate release of N7.5billion for the renovation of all the secondary and primary schools in Imo State.
“In addition, I will release immediately the sum of N1million for the children in each of the primary and secondary schools in the State for their pocket money. Every child in primary and secondary Schools must also get the new bag already being distributed.”
