The rector of the institution, Rev. Fr. Wence Madu, told newsmen in Owerri that some of the expelled students gained admission into the polytechnic through illegal means while others were expelled for their involvement in examination malpractice. 
The rector, who affirmed the institution’s zero tolerance for examination malpractice, campus cultism and other vices, said the management was poised to reposition the polytechnic to enable its graduates compete in the saturated global labour market.
He said that only candidates who merited admission would be admitted into the institution, warning those involving in admission racketeering to desist from such or face the wrath of the law.
He advised parents to resist temptation of paying money to secure admission for their children.
