The new Mayor of Owerri, Chief Gibson Achonwa Njemanze said this yesterday in his office Owerri when he received a hand over note  from the out gone Mayor, Chief Kachi Nwoga.
Njemanze who expressed total regret over the unhealthy condition of the whole Owerri city arising from carelessness of the people in abusing the area, said that hence forth the situation would change for the best.
He said that every step would be taken to redeem the image of the city as the State Capital, adding that the city should surpass Okigwe and Orlu in terms of cleanliness because of its strategic position.
Describing the job as tedious one but insisted that a holistic approach must be taken in tackling the nagging problem, while assuring to use his office to make people realize the need for clean city.
