Dee-Yke Global Foundation has urged the Imo State government to improve school infrastructure with a view to enhancing students’ educational pursuit.

The chief executive officer of the foundation, Ikechukwu Agoha, who made the plea while donating a block of three classrooms to his alma mater, Obilibi-Mbieri Community Primary School in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, said it was the desire of the foundation to see students learn in schools that have better infrastructure and facilities.

Agoha said poor academic environment was harmful to children’s educational growth, stressing that pupils could not learn in unfriendly environment.

“It is my expectation that this gesture will improve the quality of education in this school. Dee-Yke Global Foundation will keep helping in improving the standard of living in our society,” he said.

Speaking earlier, the headmistress, Mrs Joyce Njoku, said the new building would motivate teachers in their efforts to raise the quality of education.

The Director of Universal Basic Education (UBE), Stella Ndu, said more individuals should partner with government towards improving the quality of education.
