He said that refraining from wood logging would help to control ecological hazards.
Imoke, who was on a 3-day working tour of various projects in the Northern and Central Senatorial Districts of the state, stated this in Danare One, Boki Local Government Area, a forest community, while inspecting ongoing Bashua-Abonorole Danara Rural Access Mobility Project (RAMP) road.
He told the people that God has blessed the state with vast forests, lamenting that the activities of wood loggers were hampering the state from harnessing its forest resource.
He threatened that the state would invoke its powers to deal with those who were bent on plundering the forests.
Earlier, the village head of Danare One, Oyu Joshua Mbia Bokop, while welcoming Imoke as the first governor to visit the community, promised to discourage illegal wood loggers.
The governor also inspected ongoing road projects which traversed virgin forests.
