The matter of rigging by the PDP is not what this piece is trying to address. Yes the PDP had always been in the habit of imposing candidates on the electorates by ensuring that those imposed are rigged into positions. This imposition thing got the bitter pill when the imposed Prof Chukwuma Soludo failed to make it to Anambra governor’s seat.
Soludo was imposed by Prince Ogbulafor; Ogbulafor was imposed by Obasanjo’s kitchen cabinet against the more preferred former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim; so also did Obasanjo impose on the PDP, the Yar’adua/Jonathan ticket in the 2007 presidential election and eventually rigged them to victory. But it is not yet over until it is over as the evolving scenario will ensure that Ogbulafor leaves the position for the right person who probably is Anyim and not any northerner, a dummy Ogbulafor has tried to sell to Arewa Youth Forum, insinuating that Jonathan was aiming so in order to pave way for his possible contest for the presidency come 2011.
