Okorocha made his optimism known at a dinner organised for the NUC visiting team in the state capital.
He regretted that the Imo State University was yet to boast of infrastructural development, like its counterpart in other states, saying that in the next two years, the profile of the institution would be raised to meet international standard.
While commending the acting vice chancellor for her effort in ensuring that the institution’s courses get accredited, he said that there cannot be development without education.
He said that “the era of leaving behind buildings, cars as legacies were over.”
Speaking on behalf of the Accreditation Team, the chairman of the team, Prof. Jeremaiah Ojediran, thanked the governor for investing in the area of human resources, noting that he was inadvertently investing in the future generations.
He promised that the accreditation team would be objective in carrying out its assignments in the school.
In her remarks, the Acting Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Prof. Adaobi Obasi, thanked the governor for upgrading 16 departments of the university.
