But in Adamawa, that is hardly considered an issue. Former PDP national chairman, Bamanga Tukur, who had governed the state in 1983 and hails from Jada local government, rightfully identifies with the Southern zone, but his son, Awwal, who has represented Yola North/ Yola South and Girei federal constituency in the central zone of the state, identifies with the Central zone.
Currently, the Nyakos have also reinforced this fact. While the father, Murtala Nyako, who has been governor from 2007 before he was impeached last year, is from the Southern zone, his son, Abdulaziz is contesting the seat of the Central senatorial zone and is the APC candidate for the zone.
It is a case of what is taken for granted in another clime, is definitely a big issue in another.
