This charge was handed down recently in a Sunday sermon by the pastor-in-charge of the Redeemed Christian church of God, Rehoboth parish, Suleja, Niger state, Pastor Fred Ogbe.

In his message entitled: Remembering to Give Thanks, Pastor Ogbe admonished Christians to always give thanks to God when facing trials and temptation as thanks giving for a Christian is supposed to be a way of live, and not only a show of appreciation when God answers their prayers.

Taking scriptural readings from the books of Deuteronomy 8: 7-13, Luke: 17: 11-19 and Philippians 4: 6, the cleric warned Christians against unforgiving tendencies. He said God like the children of Israel in the bible who after God miraculously took them out of slavery in the land of Egypt and consistently walked with them for 40 years all through the wilderness to the Promised Land, forgot all the blessings they had received in the past, only to start complaining when confronted with a little challenges.

He encouraged all true believers to tap into the blessings associated with unconditional thanksgiving. He concluded by saying, “When you give thanks to God for what he has done, he will do more. And when you thank in times of trials and temptation, he will intervene in the situation.”
