Speaking with newsmen at an on-going Indian Education fair in Abuja, Ghanashyam noted that the idea was informed from several discussions he held with top government officials whom have longed for the return of Indian teachers in the country.
He said this new initiative is not aimed at belittling the Nigerian teaching profession but a way of improving upon it that could make it competitive with world standards.
The envoy said that at a recent meeting with the supervising minister of education Nyesom Wike a lot of modalities were tabled for the proposed institution adding that Nigeria quest in obtaining world class education for her citizens cannot be over-emphasized.
“Why can’t we bring the Indian teachers back to Nigeria was what people always ask me,  Nigeria is a big country and can join India to lead the world and education is key to do just that,” he said.
