The franchise’s filmmakers are “not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones,” according to Frank Marshall.

Apparently, only one actor can properly embody a certain archeaologist and his fear of snakes.
Frank Marshall – who produced all four Indiana Jones movies, beginning with 1981’s beloved ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ – told Total Film that there are no plans to have the character played by anyone other than Harrison Ford.
“There are a lot of rumors,” said Marshall, who has experience with reboots, having produced this summer’s ‘Jurassic World.’ “We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet…. At some point, we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton.”
Marshall added that the filmmakers are “not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… We have to figure this out.”
Rumours have circulated of late about a younger actor potentially getting cast as the iconic character known for donning a fedora and cracking a whip. In 2013, Disney struck a deal with Paramount, landing distribution rights to any future films in the franchise.
Chris Pratt told ‘Entertainment Weekly’ in a cover story earlier this year that he was flattered to hear his name mentioned in connection with a possible ‘Indiana Jones’ reboot.
