INEC adjourns vote collation to Monday

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Sunday night announced the adjournment of collation of results from the states and FCT till Monday morning.

The INEC boss who gave a highlight of the activities of the commission after the voting exercise had ended on Saturday said that election results from states and local governments would be accompanied by the State Resident  Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to the National collation centre, Abuja.

The centre was formally declared opened with the INEC boss reading the ground rules to those accredited to access the centre.

According to him, all the returning officers for the election should abide by the result presented by the RECs from the states.

He added that they should hand over original copies of forms which is the summary of election result on state by state basis.
