INEC deploys 100 technicians to fix card readers

The Lagos Resident Commissioner of INEC,Akin Orebiyi has said that his commission has deployed over 100 technicians to repair faulty smart card readers in polling units.

He disclosed this in a press brief in his office and said the development was necessary in order to ensure unfettered use of the card readers during the ongoing voting exercise.

He said a total of 12,131 smart card readers would be used in today’s election. He commended the conduct of today’s election by his official, adding that the development was borne out of the need to improve upon the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
