The Head of Voters Education and Publicity of INEC in Plateau State, Osaretin Imahiyereobo, said 2, 003,046 voters registered in the state,urging communities yet to receive their cards to remain patient.
INEC also, through its administrative secretary in Plateau State, Usman Bukar, denied insinuations that the commission was working with community and political leaders to sell PVCs in the State.
Bukar denied the allegations when a delegation of community leaders from Naraguta A ward in Jos went to INEC office over failure of INEC to make available their PVCs.
He said: “The mai anguwa is not in charge of the cards. Our staffers distribute the cards to individuals and no one is supposed to collect for another person. Therefore we know that no card has been sold and we in INEC do not sell PVCs.”  
He urged them to remain patient and calm their communities, promising that INEC will do its best to ensure that the cards are made available before the 8th of March 2015.
Earlier, a delegation of the community leaders led by Muhammad Auwal Danladi, Malam Mursheed Muhammad Khalifa, Danjuma Muhammad and others said they were at the INEC office to know why the PVC ‘s of their communities numbering over 400 thousand were yet to be issued.
The community leaders said their inability to get the PVC was causing apprehension among the youths in their communities, despite their efforts to calm them.
“It seems to us that the postponement of election was a blessing in disguise because it will be unacceptable to say that the whole of Naraguta A will not participate in the election,” a community leader stated.
Danjuma Muhammad, a former councillor of Naraguta A at the end of the meeting said they had agreed to give INEC the benefit of the doubt, stressing that should INEC failed to keep to its promise, the youths will stage a peaceful rally.
