INEC reschedules election in Ekiti council to April 18

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared the House of Assembly election conducted in Ilejemeje local government last Saturday inconclusive due to the crisis recorded during the election.

INEC, through the Public Relations Officer, Taiwo Gbadegeshin, said a repeat of the election will take place in 20 units of the local government on Saturday, April 18.

Governor Ayo Fayose had mentioned Ilejemeje as one of the areas where ballot snatching was recorded during the election.

The INEC had earlier ratified results of 25 councils.
