A group, Crusade for Greater Nigeria on Poverty Eradication and Social Justice, has called on the chairmen of the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to support the minister, Nyesom Wike’s infrastructure drive.

President/ founder of the group, Engr Prosper Okafor, said the recent flagged off off-road construction and the promise of additional ones by Wike show the commitment of President Bola Tinubu, through the minister, to change the narrative in the territory.

He encouraged them to provide measures that would see to successful completion of the projects.

According to him, Wike’s approach to issues is an indication that the nation’s capital under his watch will be different, if he is given the necessary support.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the president urged the chairmen, residents and other stakeholders to always play their roles in protecting the multiple projects embarked upon by the minister.

Okafor said irrespective of religious, political and ethnic groups, wellbeing of Abuja residents should be paramount to everyone.

The statement read’ “The six area councils chairmen should support the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, to succeed in his infrastructure drive. All the road projects are sited in rural areas, it is the duty of the people to ensure that the contractor and workers do not have obstacles.

“It is an opportunity that Abuja people must take serious irrespective of political, religious and ethnic affiliations.’’
