The Karu Gbagyi Development Association (KAGBADA), an association of the indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said that it will present The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, with the “Nigeria Infrastructure Minister of the Year” award in recognition of his contributions to the growth of Abuja’s satellite towns and outer city districts.
In a statement signed by Peter Samuel Aye, the Secretary General of KAGBADA, the association said it had never seen the massive infrastructure projects that were currently being carried out in the satellite towns and outer city districts under the administration of Wike and President Bola Tinubu.
He said it was the infrastructure development that prompted the natives to confer an award on Wike, which he disclosed was slated for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at a reception in his honour, including other awardees, at the Jummai Aduda Town Hall in Karu District, Abuja.
The statement added that the event would also feature a public lecture on the FCT 2026 elections to be delivered by Nigeria’s former Ambassador to The Gambia, Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, including a scholarship award for indigent people and the Empowerment Scheme for Karu Chiefdom residents.
The Karu natives also commended the Wike for the hand of fellowship extended to their political leader and former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, while also commending his appointment of their son in-law, Architect Richard Dauda, as Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
