The Concerned Northern APC Youth Forum has accused the Minister of Works, David Umahi, of neglecting the Northern region in his infrastructural strides across the country.

The vice chairman of the forum, Hon. Musa Ibrahim, while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, stated that they supported the minister because they felt he had the interest of Arewa people at heart, adding that no project has been done in the North since he became minister.

They said, “Today, we want the minister to point out to us what project he has done for the Arewa people. We are tired of promises, we demand that Engr. David Umahi carry the North along in the infrastructural development across the country.”

Ibrahim noted that they will continually remind Umahi that he is a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not a minister for Southern Nigeria, hence projects should not be sidelined.

He explained that the youth forum supported the minister consulting and campaigning before, during and even after APC national convention but has not assisted any of the youth from the North.

“We are most respectfully calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do something serious about this, as the actions of Umahi are nothing short of jeopardizing his hard-earned reputation with the Northern people, or the president in 2027,” the statement said.
