A community-driven cryptocurrency initiative has rebuilt a school in Kwara State, providing improved learning facilities for pupils who had previously been studying in temporary conditions after their classrooms were damaged by heavy rainfall and wind.

Before the intervention, the school’s buildings had been affected several times by severe weather, forcing pupils and teachers to conduct classes in an unfinished structure.

The team behind the $LEGEND coin said it decided to channel part of its creator earnings toward rebuilding the facility.

According to the organisers, the initiative was initially launched to highlight the large population of Nigerian “reply guys’’ on Crypto Twitter but later expanded to include humanitarian activities aimed at supporting communities across Africa.

The team disclosed that about $12,000 was used to construct eight new classrooms for the school.

The idea for the project was proposed by a Kwara-based Nigerian, Mohammed Suleiman, popularly known on social media as Creative Highlife.

Suleiman said the decision to rebuild the school was taken after several community-focused proposals were considered.

“We received many suggestions, including building a water tower and distributing food to the less privileged. After learning about the condition of the school, we agreed that rebuilding it would have a lasting impact on the children and the community,” he said.

The project, approved by the Legend coin team, was coordinated locally by Suleiman alongside other Nigerian team members including Mohammed Thambiry Abdullahi, Mohammed Aliyu Kusogi and Mohammed Mohammed.

Construction began on January 19, 2026, and was completed on March 2, 2026.

Residents, parents and pupils gathered for the commissioning of the new classrooms, with organisers estimating that more than 400 people attended the event.

A week before the ceremony, cryptocurrency exchange platform Splitnow also supported the project with a $750 donation.

The funds were used to purchase desks, chairs and other items for the pupils during the event.

The proprietor of the school, Mohammed Dede Mohammed, expressed appreciation to those involved in the project.

“I had been working on improving the school facilities for some time, and I am grateful that the Legend coin team supported the proposal brought by Creative Highlife,” he said.

Beyond the Kwara project, the organisers said the group has also carried out other charitable activities in Nigeria, including food distribution in Abuja and Ogun State.

According to the organisers, plans are underway to support additional community projects across Africa using rewards generated from the pump.fun creator programme.
