The beneficiaries were 215 girls and 85 boys who received school materials that include teaching aids, school bags, books and writing materials among others.
Speaking at the distribution of the materials by the Face of Hope for the Needy Initiative, its Executive Director, Hajiya Hauwa Hamza Danchadi said the gesture was aimed at encouraging pupils’ enrolment, retention, completion and transition.
“We are encouraging the community to support retention of pupils especially the girl child,” she added.
Guest Speaker at the occasion, Professor Malami Tambuwal stressed the need to give education sector due attention and promote girl -child education.
