Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has presented a house and cash gifts to some security personnel who suffered injuries as a result of an attack by insurgents on the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road on November 18, 2023.
Presenting the gifts through the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, Governor Buni commiserated with the officers and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased among them.
He said the government and people of Yobe would continue to appreciate and reward gallant security personnel who were making sacrifices for peace to reign in the state.
During the presentation ceremony, Mrs Sadiya Mohammed Maina, wife of killed Police Corporal Mohammed Maina, was given N2 million capital to start a business and N1 million for her children’s school fees.

Sadiya was also presented with a house worth N7.5 million in Damaturu, the state capital.
Other security personnel who sustained injuries during the attack were given N1 million each.
Daily Trust had reported that on Saturday, November 18, 2023, security personnel attached to the Government House, Damaturu, were injured in an ambush by suspected Boko Haram fighters on the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway while returning to the state from Borno.
