Insecurity: Kuje chairman-elect pledges partnership with NSCDC

The newly elected chairman of Kuje Area Council, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, has pledged to partner with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) upon assuming office to tackle insecurity and criminal activities across the council.

Shekwolo made this commitment on Wednesday while receiving the FCT Commandant of the NSCDC, Dr. Olusola Odumodu, who paid him a congratulatory visit following his victory in the February 21, 2026, chairmanship election.

The chairman-elect said his administration will prioritize security to ensure the lives and property of all residents are protected. He noted that a society can only witness peace and rapid development when its citizens are secure, adding that his administration will develop a comprehensive security blueprint.

“It is only when our communities are secured that we can pray and engage in socio-economic activities,” he said.

While thanking the Commandant for the visit, the Chairman-elect also commended the Corps for its efforts in protecting lives and safeguarding public infrastructure.

Earlier, the FCT Commandant, Dr. Olusola Odumodu, explained that he led a delegation of officers to congratulate the Chairman-elect on his recent electoral success.

He assured Shekwolo of the Corps’ readiness to maintain a strong synergy with the council administration to ensure the safety of all residents.
