Insecurity: Kwara relocates NYSC orientation camp

The Kwara State Government has relocated the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025 Batch B Stream II Orientation Camp from Yikpata to Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, following security concerns at the permanent site.

The decision comes amid heightened security operations by the state governments and troops, which have led to the killing of several bandits and kidnappers.

NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, announced this in Ilorin, explaining that the government’s swift intervention was to safeguard corps members and guarantee the smooth conduct of the three-week programme.

He said intelligence on “perpetrators and enemies of progress” informed the decision, stressing that soldiers and other security agencies would be deployed to protect participants throughout the exercise.

Onifade assured parents and guardians that the relocation would not disrupt the programme, as preparations were already in top gear to host corps members expected from September 24 to October 14, 2025.
