The lawmaker representing Agatu Constituency at the Benue State House of Assembly, Godwin Edoh, has appealed to the federal government for the establishment of military presence in border communities of Agatu Local Government Area to check insecurity.
Edoh said yesterday that the military formations on the two border communities of Okokolo in the north and Ogwumogbo in the west of Agatu land would enable the people to come back to their ancestral homes as they have abandoned their farms and farm produce.

The lawmaker made the appeal when he visited the area for on-the-spot-assessment of the destruction of property caused by armed invaders who killed soldiers and villagers a few days ago during an attack on several villages now deserted.
He called on all relevant authorities of government to come to the aid of his people, disclosing however that he would present a motion in the House after the Assembly recess and write letters to both the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for relief materials.
