A United States of America, USA, based Nigerian Medical Doctor, Christopher Ayo Otiko, has discovered a drug for the treatment of diabetes and other wounds and has expressed his determination to ensure that Nigerians benefit from his drug which has been acclaimed as being ten times more effective than others in circulation.

Addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday as part of the activities to introduce the drugs to the Nigerian market Otiko, a Podiatric Specialist, who has over 20 years of medical experience as a foot and ankle surgeon said security operatives fighting bandits and terrorists across the country will benefit from the drug.

The drug he said also heals all kinds of wounds and burns, adding that it has already been used and proven to be a success on some cases in Nigeria.

Otiko has already met with top officials of the Defence Headquarters, Abuja during which he had what he called, “fruitful discussions” with the medical experts there.

The Medical Doctor then expressed the belief that troops of the federal government in the North East and other parts of the country, where there are conflicts, would benefit tremendously from the drug.

The drug has been medically certified as the world’s most potent drug for the treatment of diabetic ulcer, according to the Drugs Agency in the United States as it “heals ten times faster than any available drug for the treatment of diabetic ulcer and guide against amputation.

Dr. Otiko, who is currently in Nigeria meeting government agencies and parastatals on the need for partnership and collaboration, expressed great satisfaction with the responses he has been receiving from the various meetings and engagements so far.

He said, “from our various engagements and meetings with Nigerians so far, the responses we have been getting are very positive and encouraging. We are impressed.

“It is not all about the money at this point. I can use the money that I make in the United States to subsidize the cost so that almost everybody in Nigeria can afford it,” Dr Otiko said.

He revealed that it took him between the years 2008 and 2016 for the process of the discovery of the drug to be completed.

The Medical Doctor who has nearly 20 years of experience as a foot and ankle surgeon, treating such conditions as life-threatening burns among others, said he is Board Certified in the prevention and treatment of Diabetic wounds.
