Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko (Labour Party) joined the meeting minutes ago.
The meeting commenced at exactly 2.00pm when Jonathan arrived.
The president arrived in company of Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, Defence Minister Aliyu Gusau, Police Affairs Minister Abduljelil Adesiyan, Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Abubakar and all the service chiefs.
Journalists were immediately asked to leave the venue of the meeting.
Anambra state governor, Williams Obiano, is also an oppostion governor in attendance
EARLIER:
Opposition governors are conspicuously absent at the emergency security meeting convened today by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The meeting preceded earlier held by Jonathan and members of the National Security Council.
The president had summoned all the 36 state governors to an expanded security meeting schedule for 1.00pm today.
As of the time of filing this report, only People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governors are available for the meeting.
They are at present awaiting the arrival of the president for the meeting holding at the First Lady’s Conference Room of the Presidential Villa.
The governors in attendance include those of Cross River, kogi, Kaduna, Bauchi, Ebonyi, Taraba, Gombe, Plateau, Jigawa, Deltan, Enugu, Anambra, Benue, Abia, Akwa Ibom and Katsina.
