The House of Representatives Committee on Defence, on Wednesday reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary resources and support to enhance the operational capabilities of the military in combating insecurity.
The committee also called on Nigerians to support the Nigerian Armed Forces in addressing the country’s security challenges.
The committee’s chairman, Babajimi Benson, in a statement, praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for their recent achievements and unwavering dedication in the fight against insecurity.
He highlighted their successes in various operations, noting that they reflect the bravery, professionalism and commitment of military personnel in safeguarding the country.

Benson emphasised the numerous victories against insurgents, bandits and other criminal elements that have threatened Nigeria’s peace and security.
He lauded the resilience and sacrifices of the men and women in uniform, stating, “The recent successes of our armed forces in various operations across the country are highly commendable.
He specifically highlighted the significant blows delivered by troops under the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) against terrorist groups in the Lake Chad region through a series of daring operations.
