Insecurity: Sokoto seeks divine intervention

Some religious and community leaders have converged and prayed for divine intervention in the security situation in Sokoto and other parts of the country.

The prayer session was organised by the member, representing Bodinga-Dange Shuni-Tureta federal constituency, Balarabe Shehu Kakale on Tuesday.

The Sarkin Malaman Sokoto, Malam Muhammadu Na Malam Boyi, led the prayer sessions, which took place in three Juma’at mosques in the area.

They prayed for leaders, the security operatives and for the development of the state and the nation.

Kakale said the country was in need of prayers to be able to address its challenges.

“Nigeria is bedevilled by myriad of challenges; insecurity, poverty and COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know our political, traditional leaders as well as security operatives are doing their best to address our concerns but they need our prayers to succeed.

“We pray Allah to guide them aright, give them the wisdom and ability to address all these challenges so that our country can prosper,” he noted.

He called on political leaders to bury their differences, join hands together and save the country.

“Bandits or poverty are not respecters of political party, religion or tribe,” he added.
