The Chairman, Kano State Pilgrims Board, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, has urged all officials concerned with security to stop apportioning blames and face the situation collectively for a lasting solution.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting on security tagged ‘Arewa Ina Mafita’ organised by Media Ambassadors Organization in Kano,  Pakistan, who is also the state leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), described the issue of security as a collective responsibility that needs everyone’s positive contribution.

He explained that the issue of shifting blames should end and all hands should be on deck to address the problem.

Similarly, Dr Ahmed Tijjani Rufa’i of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) said it was worrisome that Nigeria harbours over 40 per cent unauthorized firearms circulating in Africa.

He said there was a need for the authorities to double up efforts in ensuring that peace and harmony returned for prosperity and growth to be achieved in the country.

In his presentation, a Kano-based security expert, Dr Yahuza Getso, said indices had shown that there were some individuals benefiting from the current insecurity in the country.

He called on  the authorities to investigate and bring anyone found connected with the issue to book.
