President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday chaired a high-level security meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Daily Trust gathered the meeting was for the Commander-in-Chief to receive updates on the security situation across the country from senior military and intelligence officials.

The meeting, held at the President’s office in the State House, is also part of the regular review of the nation’s security architecture and ongoing operations at tackling the threats of terrorism and banditry.

Among those present at the meeting were the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd); the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu and the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Undiandeye.

Also present at the meeting were the Special Adviser to the President on Homeland Security, Major General Adeyinka Famadewa; the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi.

Although details of the deliberations which held behind closed door were not made public, the meeting underscored the Tinubu administration’s continued emphasis on close coordination among the armed forces and intelligence agencies in addressing the country’s security challenges.
