The event designed to discuss racism, intolerance and peace promotion amongst other issues, placed promoting a global perspective and empowering students to create a better world.
Public Affairs Officer, Dehab Ghebreab said, the September 11, 2001 incidence changed America and the world at large. “The United States Government is doing all it can to make the world a better place for all of us. Participants should take cues from the documentary to be aware of their environment and learn to solve problems in a peaceful manner.”
Ghebreab, quoting President Barack Obama, added: “Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction.”
During the feedback session, participants highlighted the need for individuals to work in line with the government in bringing about peaceful co-existence in the country and the world at large.
