The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) has appointed Chukwudi Uche as the Country Director for Nigeria.
In a statement, Sam Achampong, CIPS Regional Director, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, said “This is a very important appointment as the procurement profession continues to grow in the region and more organisations and individuals are seeking capability development opportunities in procurement and supply.”
According to the statement, Uche’s duty will amongst other things include statutory accountability and operational responsibility for CIPS strategic growth plans across the region.
Uche, who is a procurement professional, as well as a practitioner, currently serves as the Country Manager for CIPS Health Procurement Africa Programme in Nigeria.
In the past, he worked as procurement and supply lead for a range of organisations within the public and not for profit sectors, and has over 20 years’ experience that cuts across, public, private, and not for profit sectors.
He has led major procurement and supply management initiatives and transformation efforts in Nigeria, especially in the health sector, and believes that the world can be changed for good through effective procurement and supply practices.
His qualifications amongst others include a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Master of Science (MSc) in operations and supply chain management from the University of Liverpool United Kingdom, and a certificate in organisational leadership from Harvard Business School Online.
He is a Chartered Fellow of CIPS, a Project Management Professional, in addition to being one of the few persons globally who are trained, with hands-on experience in the use of CIPS procurement excellence programme framework in organisational transformation.
His appointment in the new role takes effect from 1st September 2025.
