Old Mutual General Insurance Company Nigeria has appointed Mr. Japhet Duru as its executive director, technical. 

   A statement from the company said that the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) had already approved his appointment.

Duru would oversee the operations department of the organ isation with a view to bolstering its underwriting operations and prompt claims settlement. 

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Imo State University and a master degree in finance from Lagos State University. 

He is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN). Duru started his career at Valid Insurance Limited.

Prior to joining Old Mutual General Insurance, he served as the general manager/chief operating officer at HIERS Insurance Brokers Limited. 

Duru has held various senior management positions such as head of underwriting at KBL Insurance Limited; group head, technical, International Energy Insurance Limited and head of operations, Stanbic IBTC Insurance Brokers Limited.
