A security expert in Maiduguri, Borno State, has blamed Boko Haram insurgency for the slowed economic growth in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.
The resultant effect of insurgency “is that it slows down meaningful progress or development of an individual, community or a country. It does not allow the full exploitation of potentialities available giving prominence to mediocrity at the expense of excellence,” he said.
