Insurgents suspected to be members of the Boko Haram at the early hours of today invaded and attacked Bama town, in Bama Local Government area of Borno State.

Our reporter gathered that there were sporadic gunshots which started around 3:00am.

In another attack on Tuesday night, some insurgents suspected to be members of the sect attacked the resident of Major General Tukur Buratai, a JTF commander in the Niger Delta, in Buratai, a village in Biu about 215 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.

The insurgents were said to have invaded the house where they engaged soldiers on guard in a shoot out.
