The Senate leader, Senate Victor Ndoma-Egba has expressed the fear that the alleged introduction of chemical weapons by the insurgents in Benue State has become the biggest security threat to the nation.

Calling for thorough investigation into the claims, the Senate leader said the allegation is a frightening dimension in Nigeria’s security challenges.

Speaking in Calabar when he was bestowed an award by the Post Graduate Students of the University of Calabar as the All Round Best Law Maker, he said the allegation should be taken seriously by the security agencies.

“The security agencies must get to the root of the allegation because this is a frightening dimension to the security challenges that we are having and take adequate measures to address the issues”.

He commended the various security measures by the federal government to stem the Boko Haram insurgency but emphasised that the JTF must intensify their campaign.
