An identity management and work history reporting platform, VerifyMe Nigeria, has commended the recent directive by the National Communication Commission (NCC) that National Identity Number (NIN) be integrated into registration process for new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards; saying, it will enhance growth in both the ID verification and telecommunications industries.
The NCC gave the directive at the just concluded conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), where it said it was part of efforts towards engendering the security of lives and property for the economic development of the country.
In his reaction, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VerifyMe Nigeria, Esigie Aguele described integrating NIN into SIM registration process as a welcome development that will deepen trust among stakeholders across the value chain.
