This advice was handed down by the publisher of Development Digest, Mr Peter Emuekpere recently in Abuja at the launch and presentation of a book entitled Christian Pilgrimage in the Holy Land of Jesus–Divine Prayer Points in All the Significant Places and a Study Handbook.

According to Emuekpere, there is need for intending pilgrims to avail themselves with such books which seek to enlighten and educate them on the needs, requirements, expectations and realities of the exercise.

The book written by Dr. (Mrs.) Uju Uchendu Ozoka, “is a documentation about the Holyland and daily life in the time of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

The book is to enable Christians access as a study book in their daily life encounter and to assist them in the Christian race.

Virtually, the book enumerates more on the needs for Christian pilgrims to know the importance of becoming a JP and also to serve as a study book for Bible reference.

The book, from chapter one to 14, depicts the awesomeness of God, the value and gain of being a Christian, who Jesus Christ is, the history of Jerusalem, effective prayer points, the appearances of Christ after resurrection, Jesus entrance into Jerusalem, Mary’s well and the Lourdes in Rome.

In another development, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, has commended the Rivers State Governor   Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi for sponsoring over 10,000 Christian Pilgrims to the Holyland in three years.

The NCPC boss gave the commendation recently at a thanksgiving service in Port-Harcourt by the Rivers State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board in appreciation of the governor’s support for pilgrimage.

He described the governor as a true friend who has supported NCPC during its trying moments.

In his address at the occasion, Amaechi described pilgrimage as a Soul Searching where true Christians can find experience Christ.

In his personal testimony about pilgrimage, he said it was the earnest prayer he made to God in Israel that made it feasible for him to become governor of Rivers State.

The event also witnessed the launch of the maiden edition of The Pilgrim, a publication of the Rivers State Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board.
