Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammad Sanusi ll has called on Muslim Ummah to intensify prayers in the month of Ramadan against the insecurity challenges affecting the country.
Sanusi, made the call after he contracted the marriage of 70 couples under Kano state mass wedding programme.
He said, “Muslims all over the country need to include Nigeria in their prayers in this holy month so that Allah in His Mercy will help us ends this problem. Nigeria is facing serious challenges nowadays, the need for rigorous prayers for divine intervention.”
The emir lamented that the problem facing the country was multifaceted, noting, “We are faced with problem of kidnapping, poverty, unemployment, cattle rustling and banditry among others. This is a golden opportunity for us to intensify prayers n this holy month to seek for divine intervention.”
He said the government, Ulamah, wealthy individuals and other stakeholders had greater roles to play in this regard, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to face the reality.
Sanusi explained that government should come up with effective policies and programmes that would alleviate poverty among its subject and provide job opportunities to the teeming unemployed youth.
He added that while the scholars were expected to educate people on how to live a better and descent live, wealthy individuals on their part had to assist the needy in order to reduce the level of poverty in the state.
