Inter Milan have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League UCL after a 2-0 loss to Bodo/Glimt on the night at San Siro, for a 5-1 aggregate victory in the knockout playoff stage.

The Norwegian club silenced Italian giants Inter Milan with a brave display in Italy to knock out last season’s UL finalists by winning both legs.

They have also defeated Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in their surprise run of four consecutive wins in the competition.

Despite dominating the first half, Inter capitulated when defender Manuel Akanjis error was pounced upon, allowing Jens Petter Hauge convert into an empty net on the rebound for 1-0 on 58 minutes, before Hakon Evje made it worse with a well-worked second goal on 72 minutes.

Bodo/Glimt are in the knockout round in their debut UCL season, and are the first Norwegian side to reach this phase since Rosenborg in 1997. Inter Milan, on the other hand, are out of the UCL at the group phase for the first time since 2021.
Atletico Madrid also advanced into the knockout phase, Alexander Sorloth’s hattrick led Diego Simeone’s team to a 7-4 aggregate win, while Newcastle United also won 3-2 for a 9-3 aggregate win over Qarabag.

Atletico Madrid 4-1 Club Brugge (Atletico Madrid win tie 7-4 on aggregate)
