In commemoration of the International Women’s Day, the African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML) has established the women’s forum in the organisation to cater for the needs of women.

During an event to establish the forum and mark the International women’s Day in the organisation yesterday, the Human Resources Representative, Mr. Joel Abbas, said the forum will help address needs of women in the organisation, and also help empower women in Gujeni community.

He said the African Natural Resources and Mines Limited (ANRML), an integrated Iron ore mining and processing plant in Gujeni, Kagarko Local Government of Kaduna state, has a substantial number of women in its employment, most of whom are indigenes of the community.

He also said the Women’s forum will foster unity amongst women in the organisation and help in the development of skills of women in the community to bring about economic empowerment.

During the event to celebrate the International Women’s Day, there was sports (Marathon), Drama, Cultural display and gifts and souvenirs were given to various women.

While distributing the items to the women ,Mr. Joel said as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, the company will continuously work towards improving the quality of life of women in the organisation and the less-privileged in its area of operation.

He stated: “ANRML promotes and encourages economic, social, health and educational development in our host community, Gujeni” while giving active support to local initiatives. The implications of our operations and investments on the overall economy of Nigeria and the community are significant.”

The Head of the Women’s Forum Roseline Jegbefume, thanked the company for its kind gesture adding that the forum will look into the women in the organisation and the community. She thanked the company for celebrating the international Women’s Day with them and appealed for more support to improve the livelihood of the women in the organisation and community.
