Speaking at the 3rd founders’ day of the institution, Professor Amusan said since both the private and public universities are working towards the same goal, it would have been better if the former benefitted from the scheme.
“We are not asking the federal government to give us equal treatment as it does with the public university, but certainly it is not out of place if private universities are given some token as lifeline,” he added.
He said private universities in the country pay higher taxes to the federal government than their public counterparts, therefore in any package that comes from the government, both private and public universities should benefit without any discrimination.
Professor Amusan disclosed that Adeleke University is currently running 13 programmes, while 15 new programmes, including Law and Pharmacy, would be introduced in the next academic session.
He said the institution is collaborating with other universities within and outside the country to provide quality education to Nigerians.
“The university partners with various universities within and outside the country to expose students to opportunities for enriching their educational careers,” he added.
